Hi there! I'm Heather Lewis and I have the privilege of serving as a counselor here at Rivers Edge in College Station. I know life can feel overwhelming at times—whether it’s anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, or relationship issues. My goal as a therapist is to help you make sense of what’s going on. I will give you tools to cope and help you move forward with hope and resilience. I work with adolescents, individuals, couples, and families to navigate life’s challenges and build stronger connections.
We’re all shaped by our cultural backgrounds, family environments, beliefs, relationships, and experiences. My own journey through life transitions, parenting, and cross-cultural living helps me understand where you’re coming from and how those influences impact your life.
I take a trauma-informed approach, understanding that unresolved wounds often drive the patterns that keep us stuck. As Bessel van der Kolk said, “The greatest sources of our suffering are the lies we tell ourselves.” I want to help you get beneath the surface and understand what’s really driving those patterns. We need to acknowledge our stories and own them. You don't have to do this alone.
I’m here to walk alongside you to help you embrace your story. We get to walk together as you create a life that feels right for you. We’ll face challenges together, build resilience, and write what Brene Brown calls "your own brave new ending".
For clients who want to bring their faith into therapy, I’m specially trained to integrate spirituality with evidence-based practices. I believe real wellness comes from looking at all parts of life—spiritual, social, emotional, mental, and physical—to find a healthy, balanced way to live.
When not seeing clients, I enjoy traveling internationally, drinking coffee, and paddling in my new inflatable kayak.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Josh Berger LPC-S.
