“Sometimes the circumstances at hand force us to be braver than we actually are, and so we knock on doors and ask for assistance.” – Ann Patchett

About Me

My name is Katie Richards, and I’m passionate about walking alongside individuals who are longing for a deeper connection with themselves, others, and the life they’re living. I believe that we are wired for connection and growth. When stress builds, overwhelming emotions and familiar patterns can leave us feeling stuck. My goal as a counselor is to come alongside you with curiosity and compassion. We will explore your story and begin to make sense together of what’s beneath the surface. You do not have to journey alone. It’s a privilege to support clients as they courageously “knock on doors” for help and begin to explore what healing and growth can look like in their own lives.

In our work together, I take a reflective, attachment-based approach, grounded in the belief that healing happens when we can better understand our experiences and emotions. You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you are invited to show up as you are. Together, we will identify patterns, build insight, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

Before becoming a counselor, I worked as an elementary school teacher, served as a Young Life leader for high school and college students, and spent time as a stay-at-home mom to my three young children. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for working with individuals across the lifespan. For clients who want to bring their faith into our work together, I am specially trained to integrate your spirituality with evidence-based-therapeutic practices. No matter where you are on your journey, incorporating your faith into the counseling process can be a meaningful part of healing, connection, and hope. Through integrating the past with the present, my goal is to help you move forward with increased joy, purpose, and-self-acceptance.
