About Megan
My name is Megan Townson, and it is my passion to help others in their journey toward healing and wholeness. If you have experienced loss, relational hurt, or trauma, it can feel overwhelming and impossible to move forward. My greatest joy is to meet you in that space and provide safety and care as you process what you have experienced or are still experiencing.
I work with teens, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, childhood trauma, shame and codependency, perfectionism, and major life transitions. I have a particular heart for high achievers who appear to have it all together on the outside but are quietly struggling underneath, as well as those preparing for marriage through premarital counseling. As a trained EMDR therapist, I incorporate evidence-based trauma therapy alongside mindfulness and emotional regulation tools to help you find lasting relief.
What you can expect from counseling with me is a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about the things that feel too heavy or complicated to carry on your own. I also counsel through a trauma-informed lens and utilize trauma therapy as needed. Everyone has a story to tell, and I would love to help you explore yours with curiosity and compassion in order to help you understand your own story and find what you need to move toward healing and a life where you are able to flourish.
